Landscape Foreman
DESCRIPTION
The position of Landscape Foreman is first and foremost responsible for leading and managing landscape construction and/or softscape installation projects. He/ She must follow and uphold the company’s mission, vision, and values to the best of his/her ability, and ensure the client is always informed and pleased with our work. This position reports to the Operations/Production Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Follow and uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values, and company procedures
- Manage 95% of jobs to meet or beat the hours provided daily
- Provide quality customer service on every property daily
- Learn and master all aspects of your role
- Manage man-hour budget to 100% or better on a weekly/monthly basis
- Keep track of materials and man-hours used daily
- Foresee and proactively order any materials added by client, or if materials are short from the original order
- Install a variety of hardscape and softscape projects while utilizing company procedures and policies
- Monitor activities to ensure that contract instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained
- Coach, train, lead and encourage team members daily
- Communicate project steps and updates accordingly to direct manager
- Communicate with clients regularly for project updates to ensure the final product meets or exceeds client expectations
- Be flexible and open to execute necessary adjustments requested by the client, or employer, for projects
- Fill out change orders for any additional work
- Complete Atcheson Lawn Punch list and initial each item upon completion
- Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications, standards, and contract requirements
- Complete a project walkthrough at the end of each project with the client
- Choose and load appropriate tools for job in the morning and put away tools and equipment at the end of the day
- Repair tools, or submit tools for repair, for any equipment assigned to you, as directed by manager
- Responsible for daily / weekly maintenance on equipment assigned to you
- Recommend changes in working conditions or equipment use in order to increase crew efficiency
- Help establish and update production rates (typically in off-season)
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and pass a DOT medical exam as required by law
- Industry certifications required for advancement in the company
- Alert management of any issues related to projects or personnel
- Any additional responsibilities required by management.
Qualifications
- Passionate about creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes for our clients
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions doing very physical work
- Must have a positive attitude, dependable, and able to safely work with landscape equipment
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. while bending/kneeling up to 10 hours, or more, a day
- 2-3 years’ experience leading and installing landscape construction projects
- 1-3 years’ experience leading, coaching, and training team members
- Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish on time and on budget
- Proven ability to comprehend and install landscape construction projects using scaled drawings and designs
- Earn and maintain 3A/3B Certification in both Kansas and Missouri (able to obtain within 6 months of hire)
- A valid Driver’s License (Missouri-Class E, and Kansas-Class C), Insurable Driving Record, and DOT medical card is required
- Utilize landscape management best practices and techniques
